In this guide, we’ll discuss an easy step-by-step process on how to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Cyanogenmod 12.1 (CM 12.1) custom ROM on Galaxy Mega 6.3 Sprint L600 smartphone. Firstly I let you know that this process mentioned below is quite risky and may damage your phone if implemented in the wrong way. Caution

Requirements

Make sure your Galaxy Mega is charged at least up to 60% before proceeding further.
Take a complete backup of all your important data including your contacts, apps, messages, call logs, memos and APN settings etc.
Ensure that your PC has mobile-specific USB drivers installed in it.
Backup EFS folder present in your phones system directory.

Download the CM 12.1 ROM and Google Apps zip package files on your PC. Do not extract them.
Now connect your Galaxy Mega to Computer, enable Mass storage mode, and copy both the zip files on your phones internal/external storage.
Then disconnect Galaxy Mega from the PC and switch it off completely.
Boot your device into recovery now.
For doing so, press and hold the ‘Home Button (middle button) + Volume up + Power Button’ simultaneously until you land into recovery mode.

This will display all the files & folders present on your phone’s storage.

This will initiate the actual flashing process.

Increase your device’s sleep time to maximum possible from Settings » Display » Sleep (select 10 mins or 30 mins).
Install FlashFire beta app from the Play Store. For this, join the app’s Google+ community first to get into the beta program, become a tester and then finally be able to download/install the app from Play Store.
Open FlashFire app, Grant it root access and Agree to its disclaimer note.

2. Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down” buttons for a few seconds until you see a warning screen.
3. Press Volume Up on the warning screen to accept it and boot into Download mode.
Once your Tab 4 is in download mode, connect it to the PC with a USB cable. The Odin window on PC should detect the phone and show an “Added!!” message.
Now extract .zip firmware file you downloaded above to get the Odin flashable .tar file inside.
Now click on the PA tab on Odin window and select the .tar FIRMWARE file you extracted in the step above.
└ Note:DON’T play with any other options on the screen. You’re only required to connect your Galaxy Tab 4 and select the FIRMWARE file in PA tab.
Click the Start button on Odin and wait for it to finish the process. Once it has finished successfully, you’ll see a pass message on the Odin screen.
